All patients, family members, or designated representative have the right to expect personal attention, understanding and sensitivity to their needs.
Patient Rights-briefly stated:
Exercise all rights without any form of discrimination
Receive considerate and respectful care in keeping with personal values and beliefs
Receive as much information as necessary about a proposed treatment, given informed consent or refusal of treatment
Receive understandable information from the sending facility the justification for transport, treatment and the continuing of healthcare from receiving facility
Actively participate in care decisions including refusing treatment.
Respect for privacy and confidentiality in care, communication and records
Have an advance directive such as an Advance Health Care Directive or Living Will
Designate passenger of choice regardless of relationship
Patient Responsibilities-briefly stated:
Providing the sending facility with a copy of your advance directive
Understanding that the air ambulance of Care Flight International is not responsible for personal property/valuables and consent signed by patient/family member stating all luggages has been given is bounded.
Providing a complete health history including prior illnesses, hospitalizations and medications
Advising the chief flight nurse or other crew member representatives of any dissatisfaction
Patient Confidentiality:
Discuss patient information only with those directly involved with providing care. Be sensitive to surrounding while discussing patient care and information. |
